PANJIM: The Corporation of City of Panjim (CCP) drew flak from the local residents on Monday for failing to prune branches in time.

“Though falling of trees is a normal occurrence during monsoon, Panjim is in a mess,” Prof Ketan Govekar said.
“Stability of ground and roads is a problem. Trees are getting uprooted as water is seen getting accumulated in is roots making the mud marshy and slushy,” Prof Ketan Govekar from St Inez, said.
Shaikh Faiyaz, President of Sunny Masjid said, “The CCP did not undertake pre-monsoon works of trimming branches of dangerous trees as a result many trees fell on vehicles. It was only after a human life was lost, the authorities woke up.” Full Report on Page 3))
