VASCO: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths from Goa on Tuesday sought more time to reply in the case related to rape of seven-year-old girl from Vasco inside the MPT owned Deep Vihar school toilet on January 14, 2013.
According to the information, after the victim’s father filed reply before Vasco JMFC objecting to CBI plea for closing the case on June 6, 2017, the case was posted for arguments on Tuesday (July 4). However, as CBI was not prepared with their reply, CBI officials present for the hearing requested for more time to file reply over the objections filed by the victim’s father.
“As the victim’s father had opposed to our case closer plea with some points, so to counter all those points, we were supposed to file our reply. However, since last eight days, we were very busy with the Goa visit of CBI director, we could not prepare our reply. Therefore, on Tuesday we have requested for some more time to file our reply which will be filed by us on the next hearing that is now fixed on July 29,”a CBI officials informed reporters.
Meanwhile, speaking to reporters, the victim’s father claimed that the CBI has no answers to the points raised by him and his advocate in the reply objecting to the CBI plea for closing the rape case of his daughter. “The way CBI today asked for more time to file reply proves and points out the fact that CBI has no answers to the questions/objections raised by me and my advocate. Until they file their reply I would not speak much on the issue. However, I am pretty confident and prepared to counter the CBI once they file their reply as they have not done their ground investigation and the case prepared by them has several omissions,” he said
“I am also expecting that CBI in its reply will come out of some new surprises. However, I am fully prepared to counter the same. I will do everything on my part to get justice for my daughter,” he added.
