margao: A migrant from Uttar Pradesh agreed to demolish the illegal two room structure he had brazenly erected in an agricultural land without obtaining permission or license from any authority following a site inspection held on Tuesday, where some villagers had also gathered.
Acting on a complaint lodged by panch Arlinda Thereza about the construction, the Chandor Cavorim panchayat held the inspection after having earlier issued a stop work order on December 22, 2020.
The panchayat at the site inspection noted that the structure built was 8.80 mts in length, 4 mts in width and 2.75 mts in height. It was also observed that he had constructed a retaining wall in the length of 15.50 mts and 24.20 mts on two sides of his plot, which is classified as land for dry crop. He has no sanad for land conversion which is required.
The Cavorim Communidade representative while pointing out that the retaining wall is constructed abutting the water body traditionally called “Oll” asked for a survey inspection to ensure that he has not encroached on communidade property.
Sarpanch Edward D’Silva said the panchayat will submit the inspection report and follow the procedures.
