Declining to accept the registration documents of a 2004 model car as surety, Judge Sherin Paul today directed the accused Siddesh Juvekar to furnish cash surety of Rs 25,000 by way of a fixed deposit and adjourned the matter to March 21, at 2.30 pm.
The accused Siddesh Juvekar is being represented by Advocate S M Walwaikar while Adv Aires Rodrigues who is representing the victim is assisting the Public Prosecutor Clarita Simoes.
The Accused Siddesh Juwekar today moved an application seeking that he be dispensed from personally attended the hearings of the trial as he is preoccupied in Bombay with the Fashion Industry.
Arguments on the application will be heard on March 21 along with the application moved by Adv Aires Rodrigues on behalf of the victim girl seeking for further investigation of the case to gather some more vital evidence.
Siddesh Juvekar, a resident of Betul, was on November 13, 2013 indicted by the Colva police under Sections 376 and 420 of Indian Penal Code. Siddesh Juvekar was accused of having repeated forcible sexual intercourse with the victim girl under the false promise of marrying her. He was further charged of cheating the victim to the tune of Rs 5 lakh by taking money from her on the false pretext of starting a business.
However on July 4, 2014, Siddesh Juvekar was discharged by the South Goa Additional Sessions Judge. Later, the victim girl through Adv Aires Rodrigues filed a Criminal Writ Petition challenged the order discharging the accused Siddesh Juvekar.
Justice S B Shukre of the Bombay High Court at Goa quashed the discharge order and directed the accused Siddesh Juvekar to appear before the Margao Sessions Court to face the trial.
