Cheques worth Rs 12.63 lakh disbursed

Cheques worth Rs 12.63 lakh under RDA were disbursed to about 171 beneficiaries of Rajiv Awas Yojna in a special function held in Municipal Hall, Chaudi on Friday.
Under the scheme, financial assistance worth of Rs 7,500 was given to the deserving applicants for the up-gradation of their houses.
Residents of Canacona Municipal Council (CMC) topped the list of beneficiaries with 132, while residents from the panchayats at Shrishthal (3), Khola (16), Agonda (9), Gaondongrim (8) and Poinguinim (3) were the other beneficiaries of the scheme.
Cheques were given by Canacona MLA Vijay Poi Khot and CMC Acting Chairperson Dilip Kenkre gave away the cheques to the beneficiaries. Canacona BDO Arvind Khutkar was also present on the occasion.
