Chhattisgarh native held with ganja

CANACONA: Canacona police arrested one Damodar Singh Bagel, 25, a native of Dhantewade in Chhattisgarh on Monday evening, after he was caught red handed with suspected to be ganja near Palolem beach in Canacona. 
Canacona police said that they arrested Damodar Singh Bagel under section 20(b)(ii)(A) for possessing a substance suspected to be ganja when he was intercepted by a team of police lead by PSI Prashal Desai, PSI Ramchandra Naik, Head Constable Ramkushta Fal Desai, Police Constable Gautam Fal Desai, Dhananjay Dessai, Sandesh Naik and Akshay Naik at riksha stand near Palolem beach in Canacona on Monday late evening.
Police said that they have recovered 910 gms of the suspected narcotic substance worth about Rs 50,000 which they said will be sent to FDA for testing after conducting the regular formalities. 
Meanwhile, mobile phone of the accused has been attached. He was produced before Judicial Magistrate First Class, Canacona on Tuesday who remanded him in police custody for three days.
The case is being investigated by PSI Ramchandra Naik under the supervision of PI Rajendra Prabhudesai.
This is the fourth case of arrest under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act this year in Canacona taluka.
