MARGAO: The Chinchinim-Deussua gram sabha held on Sunday presided by sarpanch Antonio Sequeira ended within an hour after the gram sabha members discussed just two issues of the utilisation of golden jubilee fund of Rs 10 lakh and a compound wall.
The sarpanch informed that as there were no queries submitted by the villagers, the gram sabha ended after discussion on the two issues.
The Issue of compound wall figured at the gram sabha with demand that the panchayat act on report submitted by the Town and Country Planning Department (TCP). Sarpanch Sequeira informed gram sabha members that body shall follow the necessary process and notice would be issued to the party and also that the panchayat body shall hold re-inspection and submit the report to TCP to decide on the same.
Gram sabha member Merces Velho moved a resolution that the Golden Jubilee fund allotted by the state government to the village panchayat be utilized for the construction of garden, illumination, benches and construction of children’s park in village for benefit of locals which received unanimous approval.
