MARGAO: Upon the request of the villagers, the village panchayat of Chinchinim has resolved to write to the Water Resources Department pertaining to the non-release of water for irrigation through their existing water canal constructed decades ago. In September, WRD Minister Subhash Shirodkar announced that water will be released through all the existing canals from November 15, to encourage the farmers. He had stated that the farmers will not face water scarcity and asserted that the farmers should not keep their land uncultivated for the want of water.
