PORVORIM: Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao on Friday moved breach of privilege against former Minister Avertano Furtado, for commenting on his discussion in the Legislative Assembly.
Churchill told the House that the former Minister (Futardo) had commented to the media about the matters raised by him (Churchill) in the Assembly and that it amount to violation of breach of privilege.
He further criticised the opposition in the past to the construction of a bridge connecting Navelim and Benaulim, despite the fact that locals wanted the same.
Churchill had also critisised Furtardo in the House on Thursday, which Futardo took objection to on Friday while speaking to the media and challenged Churchill to prove his allegations or tender an apology.
Furtado challenged Churchill to prove one corruption charge against him and that he will lose anything to him. He claimed that all his business including petrol pump was legal and that Churchill was making false allegations and wasting valuable time of the House.
