With a heavy heart I am highlighting about what is happening in my Aldona village. The market complex is in a very precarious state, with threat to life to many who do business there, as well as the customers.
It was constantly highlighted in the media, but to no avail. In the Ward Santerxette, near the Holy Cross Chapel, besides the St Bridget’s Institute, a huge branch of a mango tree came crashing down, causing injuries to a passerby. We had requested the religious congregation, in whose property the mango tree lies, to trim the mango tree. But again it was to no avail. A little ahead in the other property of the said religious congregation, there lies a jackfruit tree, whose worm eaten branch poses a threat to the passersby, with the electricity supply wires beneath it. We have been requesting the religious congregation and the panchayat to get the branch cut. But again to no avail.

Sadly in Aldona, everyone waits till a tragedy takes place. We don’t even have garbage bins placed at prominent places neither do we have a proper garbage treatment plant. The panchayat must get urgent works done, rather than being a playing field for unwanted politics.
