The newly constructed roads through the villages and towns have exposed the hidden and never seen before beauty to the people travelling along these roads and residing around these places.
The beautification work carried out by the concerned authorities is attracting lot of people from far and near to visit such places to spend time with nature because of the beautiful fields, ponds, streams and lakes.

Margao–Nuvem bypass and Verna-Cansaulim road are examples of such scenic roads people love to travel and visit, to enjoy the beauty of the nature. But as it has been the habit of humans always, they reach everywhere with their filth to ruin the nature’s beauty — have reached these beautiful roads as well and has made a mess of these places. It pains to see how the used baby napkins, beer cans, chips packets, soft drink bottles and other kitchen stuff has made way to these roads making these places smelling garbage yards. And to make the matter even worse and horrifying now one can even witness men enjoy drinking alcohol openly along these roads and in the fields.
It’s great to watch men fishing in the ponds and lakes along these roads but to watch them drinking alcohol in groups is an eye soar. I regularly use these roads for cycling and like to enjoy the beauty it has to offer but the mess we people have made along these roads is unbearable. I even witnessed an incident wherein one of the teenage boys from a group of three at the Nuvem junction on the new bypass, smashing a beer bottle during one of my rides. There is a group of young men regularly drinking alcohol during evenings on the Nuvem-Margao by pass just before reaching fish market road. There are many men and women both young and old including children visiting these roads for their evening walks and jogging and even to simply sit along these roads. Can these drinking habits lead to some ugly incidents in the future?
