Assure maintenance work at Government buildings

As a matter of fact, maintenance work at government buildings seems to have been neglected. The result? Some of them are reportedly in a sorry state of affairs. For instance, the government building near the Civil Court at Tisk in Ponda. Different government departments function from these premises. However, if we have a glance here, we find windows wide open even during the night. Perhaps necessary latches have been missing.
Even glasses of window panes are found missing. Similar is the case at the government building housing Public Works Department (Division XVIII-Roads) situated at Sadar (also in Ponda). Glasses of some windows have been missing from the scene. The adjoining picture amply justifies this fact.
Of course, there will be other government buildings as well needing urgent maintenance work. It is the need of the hour for the concerned competent authorities to undertake maintenance work at such buildings on regular basis so that their image improves on a permanent basis. Since the state government incurs sizeable expenditure on welfare schemes of citizens as also on developmental works of different sorts, it is absolutely necessary that some funds are made available for maintenance work for government buildings too. Let us hope that prompt favourable action would follow in expediting the necessary maintenance work.
