Pavements are meant for the benefit of innocent pedestrians. However, there are instances wherein the same prove dangerous for precious human lives. Seen in the picture is the pavement adjacent to the Primary Health Centre at Sanquelim. The exposed gaps along the pavement prove risky for pedestrians walking their way along this area. Especially during late evening and night there is every possibility of any pedestrian collapsing inside the gaps due to poor visibility.
Under such circumstances, they would ultimately be subjected to adverse consequences. Senior citizens would be the worst sufferers in the process. It is absolutely necessary that the existing gaps along this pavement are covered with some metal plates so that pedestrians would be able to proceed freely over the same. No doubt, public at large must be assured safety on a permanent basis. Let us hope that the concerned competent authorities would do the needful in this regard in public interest.
