SANGUEM:  Several litres of raw water being supplied to Kalay River from Selaulim Dam to augment water supply to Opa Water Works is wasted at Uguem Bridge on account of a leakage at the pipe joints.
Though the leakage had taken some days ago and just opposite to the WRD pump station, the authorities have failed to repair the leakage.
Ironically, in an attempt to minimise the leakage of water, a plastic tarpaulin has been wrapped around the pipe joints in order to minimise the waste of water. Due to the acute drinking water problems faced by people in the surrounding region, the villagers who are angry at the stop-gap arrangement have demanded the immediate repair of the water leakage at Uguem.
