A crack had developed on one of the pillars of the gate of the children Municipal Park at Vasco several months back.
Now, the crack has only become wider as seen in the photo and the pillar supporting the gate threatens to fall apart at any moment.
Several children visit the park accompanied with their parents every day.
The cracked pillar is also located along the pavement of the Swatantra Path. It is held in place by metal wires which are wound around it.
If the pillar gives way, it could prove dangerous to those visiting the park and pedestrians walking on the pavement.
The concerned authorities need to repair the pillar on a war-footing, preferably before the commencement of the summer holidays when the number of children visiting the park will increase manifold.
