A concrete signpost of Traffic department installed near the forest check-post at Upper Bazaar in Ponda has remained neglected for some time now.
The names of places mentioned too have withered away. As a result, vehicular traffic proceeding along this strategic route do not get acquainted with the direction for proceeding towards the concerned locations.
Hence, a lot of time gets wasted for enquiring about the direction with the locals. In the process vehicles often halt on the road thereby causing hindrance for smooth movement of vehicular traffic.
What seems rather strange is that the signpost is nearly fully covered with mud. Under such circumstances it fails to serve the basic purpose. As on Saturday, March 24 at 7:30 am, the situation in this regard was found to be unchanged.
It would be worthwhile for concerned authorities to re-write the missing names and the surrounding mud should also be cleared at the earliest, so that clear visibility is maintained.
