Things are becoming worse in Panjim and something needs to be done soon and an alarming rise in population including the tourists, migrants, working crowd, besides locals needs to be streamlined.
Besides, one also sees various types of trucks carrying garbage, coal, iron-ore, building and construction materials, those transporting two and four wheelers crisscrossing on bridges causing traffic congestions.Besides the trucks passenger buses, goods and other commodities carriers, water tankers, fuel supply tankers, ambulances, cement concrete mixers, power trucks, cranes, road rollers, excavators, heavy duty 12, 14 to 16 tyre trucks lead to a serpentine lines of vehicular traffic and jams, which are already chocked with two and four wheelers.
The concerned authorities need to take the above issues seriously to avoid any inconvenience to the locals.
They need to act and streamline certain basic issues such as of traffic menace, regular maintenance of buses to avoid breakdowns resulting in traffic jams, due to which others are put to inconvenience and hardships.
The heavy vehicles need to be diverted, so as to ease congestion and traffic chaos.
