Chicalim Park which is located along the highway leading to Vasco town and was renovated some years ago is now in a pathetic condition.
In the past, the park attracted large crowds. Children were seen playing while the elders used to sit on the benches and pass their time. There was even a grounded fighter jet which was placed on a pedestal which became a source of attraction for the crowd. The park is situated at the junction of the Airport road and cuts a sorry picture of the state for the visitors who travel by plane. The swings, the see-saw and other playing equipment in the park are in a state of disrepair. There is no greenery in the park as the lawn is missing and is replaced by mud and stones. Some pipes are also seen stored in the park.
Just like the Vaddem Lake was beautified and opened recently, the Chicalim Park also needs to be renovated and restored to its past glory.
