The beach in Betalbatim has been much improved after the introduction of garbage bins, which are cleared of waste on a daily basis. This is very positive. The visibility of police personnel is also noticeable. The recent ban of cooking and use glass bottles and the enforcement against those who choose to be non compliant, means a huge improvement for those who wish to enjoy the beauty of the beaches in South Goa.
A big thank you to Goa Tourism, the Betalbatim Panchayat and the police for working on this. A significant step towards improving our local area!
However, the roads and paths, etc leading up to the beach remain unsightly with garbage being thrown by careless people. Something needs to be done about this. Also, drivers of vehicles that speed down the narrow roads need to consider the safety of other road users. Can speed breakers be added?
