A look at this picture will bring out the pathetic condition of the dilapidated public steps used by hundreds of pedestrians for walking daily up and down.
The stairs are situated near the Old Collectorate building, on the footpath opposite the Margao Municipal Garden.
unfortunately, the MArgao Municipal Council has not done anything to repait these steps that are used by thousands of people everyday.
Its sad to see such a sight right in the middle of the city.
Whats more, during monsoons, the heavy flow of rain water along the steps makes it difficult for pedestrians to walk safely. Thus providing proper drains needs serious consideration too.
We earnestly hope that the local MLA, the Margao Municipal Council and particularly the local councillor ensures that these steps are urgently repaired and restored to a decent state and the accumulating garbage around the area is regularly cleared.
