Residents at the Adpai village in Ponda have been dumping their household garbage and other waste material behind the Goa State Cooperative Bank Limited along the road leading towards the Adpai jetty. The situation turns unhygienic for travellers and pedestrians alike.
It also presents a shabby appearance especially for the travellers. For quite some time now the garbage has remained uncleared. Although the local Village Panchayat viz. the VP of Adpai-Durbhat has undertaken cleanliness drives on various occasions, this particular spot has remained neglected. In order to assure hygienic conditions to all, it is time for the VP to clear the scattered garbage on priority basis without any further delay.
Since cleanliness is next to godliness, let us hope that prompt positive action would follow at once in public interest.
I also request the local MLA Sudin Dhavalikar to consider this matter sympathetically and instruct the VP members accordingly. Maintaining hygienic conditions has become the need of the hour and the VP as a competent authority needs to achieve this at all costs.
