In Goa it is quite common to see fruit vendors selling their goods from their vehicle by parking it by the side of the road. Such sale of fruits usually takes place on weekends. These vendors in all probability do not bring any earnings for the civic body or the panchayat.
They also cause obstruction to the smooth flow of traffic along the highway, as people park their vehicles to make the purchases.
There needs to be a ban on the sale of goods from vehicles parked along the side of the roads, as these vendors-on-wheels also affect the business of vendors in the market place who pay the necessary fees to the civic authorities.
