Dr Ambedkar junction to Curchorem Fire Station road repaired after Herald report

SANQUEM: Consequent to the news item on Herald of June 13, the authorities in Curchorem set in motion and began repairing the damaged portion of the road from Dr Ambedkar junction to Curchorem Fire Station. In the evening hours, a couple of workers and a JCB machine were pressed into service to get the road repaired temporarily. The workers were seen covering the potholes with stones and fine powder of basalt stones.
It is pertinent to note here that due to the damaged condition of the road, the vehicle riders particularly two wheeler riders were facing severe hardships in using the road which is totally washed away in the very first rains. 
As a temporary measure, the authorities have now decided to fill the numerous potholes with stones in order to avoid any accidents from taking place.
