The State border of Goa starts before Caranzol Railway Station along the Londa Vasco-Da-Gama section of the South Western Railway (SWR) but since 2003 after the zone reorganisation occurred, the Hubli Division of the then South Central Railway (SCR) was merged with SWR.
Since then, the diagonal boards of Caranzol, Dudhsagar and Sonaulim stations are displayed in Kannada instead of Konkani along with Hindi and English giving misinformation to passengers that these villages are part of Karnataka.
Recently, station boards painted in yellow are also displayed in Kannada at Dudhsagar. Time and again, complaints have been made to the authorities of SWR but they are reluctant to solve this issue.
I request Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant to intervene into this matter and order the SWR to follow the official language policy on its route in Goa.
