We are regular visitors to Goa and were in Candolim for two weeks in January and have just returned to Delhi. Your newspaper reported the visit of the Union Minister Hardip Puri and his statement praising Goa for becoming human defecation free.
What about the animal defecation by stray cattle who roam freely on Candolim beach.
I presume they do so on other beaches too according to reports we read in your paper. It is a major nuisance and your local authorities seem to be doing nothing about it.
We have all become used to stray dogs throughout the country, thanks to Maneka Gandhi and the Supreme Court, but the cattle menace is a new phenomenon seen only this year.
My other observation is the sorry state of parking facilities or lack of them, on the approach roads to the beaches, especially Candolim because.
The approach roads are very narrow because of shops on either side
. They have very sharp jagged edges which damage the car tyres and the surrounding areas are full of ditches and potholes and mounds of garbage making it extremely difficult to find a place to park or to turn the cars round.
