This transformer doesn’t exist in the forest, but by the roadside, opposite the Augustia’s Chapel, Golna-Pomburpa, a stone throw away from the Electricity Consumers Facilitation Centre, which was recently built by demolishing decades old bus shelter for the convenience of the linesmen, and two meters away the Junior Engineer Office, at Gavar-Aldona.
By looking at the fate of the electricity transformer, it openly seems that its jurisdiction staff is on dereliction of duty. It is not in Golna alone but seen in many public places where the transformers are left to corrode in the wild grown shrubs/ bushes with the fuse boxes doors open.
Several times such scenario of transformers is published in the newspaper so as to bring to the attention of the higher authorities to make jurisdictional enquiry for future preventive measures. But it doesn’t happen, likely the seniors on the table doesn’t like to hurt their subordinates and the reason the power transformers are corroding their life capacity due to which the public suffer power outrages and power fluctuations.
The Chief Electrical Executive Engineer should look into the matter and pass instructions to the concerned staff to keep the power transformers in healthy environment and to follow the manufacturer instructions/manual.
