Just want to bring to the notice of the authorities that garbage is just dumped all along the Siolim-Marna road leading to the Housing Board in Mapusa. There is neither a system in place for disposal of garbage nor do people have a civic sense. People and even some hoteliers prefer to dump their dirty garbage in plastic bags by the roadside creating nuisance. Stray dogs and cows forage through the waste and spill the dirty contents of the waste all along the road.
Fish, meat and vegetable waste besides broken glass bottles and plastic are just dumped by the road side with authorities from the Siolim-Marna panchayat and Mapusa municipality turning a Nelson’s eye to the nuisance. The stench is unbearable and nauseating.
I would request the authorities to keep garbage bins outside every home in this area, so that people place their waste in the bins rather than dumping it by the roadside in a haphazard manner.
