MAPUSA: In a blatant disregard for traffic regulations, a truck belonging to the Mapusa Municipality was spotted on the streets without a tailgate or a visible number plate.
While garbage collection in the town is already a sporadic event, with new black spots emerging every week, this truck was seen transporting waste in a reckless manner, leaving a trail of rubbish in its wake.
Its missing tail gate also poses a risk to other road-users. This incident has raised concerns about the effectiveness of traffic law enforcement.
With the truck’s non-compliance, questions have emerged regarding the efficacy of the e-challan system and whether the surveillance cameras deployed in the area are functioning properly.
