The Comba Railway over bridge for two wheelers should be considered as one of Margao city’s mischievous achievement of the 21st century. It appears that it is constructed notoriously to harass two-wheeler drivers considering its architectural design which has four sharp ninety-degree bends on its narrow 2.0 metre road separated by an I-Beam divider at its entry points.
Years have passed by since this over bridge was thrown open to two wheelers as a solution to the long queues of two wheelers at the Comba railway gate intersection. But apparently it looks like Margao’s MLA and its city fathers fail to realise that this bridge is an engineer’s chaotic blunder and an architectural disaster considering its design with its blunt elevation and sharp turns.
It is high time that an underpass or overbridge at the Comba railway crossing is planned to facilitate vehicles to go with ease.
