Can anyone tell me why Mapusa, Panjim and Margao are overcrowded?
The reason is those who are in power and authorised to issue licences have not followed rules. In Mapusa the rule is that you can build only 50 per cent of the land available that means 50 per cent of the land is to be utilised as playground for the children or for having private parties or meetings, etc. The underground parking should be in the ground floor.
Secondly there is space to be set free for road widening, etc. I have seen a building coming up very close to the road in Mapusa on the Municipality slope. What will be the fate of those using the roads if it is a commercial building? All car owners will park their vehicles on the road and make it narrower. I have also seen buildings coming up on a very steep slope.
Will someone pay visit to Mapusa and make it a nice place?
