Porvorim needs a new traffic plan

According to the Goa government’s Economic Survey report 2022-23, the State has around 15.27 lakh registered vehicles, for a population of nearly 16 lakh. On an average 57,000 vehicles are registered with the State transport authorities every year.

Hence upgradation of road network is a necessity in areas like Porvorim which is already overpopulated and witnessing the increase traffic movement. The logjam is seen early hours of morning, late evening rush and even the ambulances getting stuck in traffic.

The elevated corridor is a stretch of 4.7km.

I think the plan should be notified to the public in advance. The plan should be notified to the public in advance.

Also the government should provide alternative routes for smoother travel during the flyover construction. This would greatly alleviate the inconvenience faced by residents and commuters in Porvorim.
