Proper efforts not being made to keep Goa free from garbage menace

Garbage mess can be seen just opposite the side of the road and just next to the signboard which says ‘VP Davorlim Dicarpale Welcome Layamati Ward.’ The sign board erected by Margao Municipal Council that stands right in the middle of the garbage dump reads ‘If any person found dumping of garbage/ wast will be fine upto Rs 5,000 – by ordered, Margao Muncipal council.’
The sign board also unabashedly displays evidently visible and appalling spelling and grammatical mistakes such as ‘wast for waste’, ‘fine for fined’, ‘muncipal for municipal’, ‘by ordered for by order’ etc.
Hope the MMC corrects the bloopers, before they make a further fool of themselves and also clear the garbage mess that has been there for some time.
What’s more, the garbage bags seem to be increasing each day and emanate foul smell to the public using this road. The stray cattle, attracted by the garbage and waste have been increasing in numbers and can be seen creating a nuisance and loitering around, including causing obstruction to motorists and pedestrians. In fact many stray cattle have died after being choked on plastic bags.
This is the long term issue and should be taken seriously by the authorities and to the owners of the cattle.
The increasing number of plastic bags are now spilling on the roads and the mess is often seen on the road, after people dump garbage and waste in the night.
The government too seems to have turned a blind eye to this problem and do not seem interested in clearing the garbage mess.
It is noticed that many street gaddas are also running their business very close to the garbage mess.
We request the Margao Municipal Council,  VP Davorlim Dicarpale and the government of Goa  to clear this mess as soon as possible in order to keep the area clean and free from rotten smell.
Immediate and strict action should also be taken against the trouble makers who are creating this mess.
Unfortunately, this issue has been highlighted several times but the department does not care or take any responsibility to clean the area.  Let us keep our Goa clean, let us keep our India clean. Hope some action is taken soon!
