Vehicular traffic proceeds in opposite directions at a fast speed thereby raising the possibility of an accident sooner or later. Such a situation poses great danger to fellow-travelers and pedestrians. There are neither any speed-breakers nor adequate traffic signboards in order to assure safety to precious human lives.
A signboard mentioning the words ‘Dead slow’ that was installed in the initial stages has been presently missing from the scene. Existence of bushes at the turn affects the visibility of travelers.
During previous years some accidents have occurred at this dangerous spot and in one case a youth had lost his life on the spot by colliding with a private bus. However, it is rather unfortunate that the concerned authorities have not initiated any precautionary measures at this sensitive area for ensuring safety to travelers and pedestrians.
There is the need to provide speed-breakers on either side of this turn so that proper control is exercised on over-speeded vehicles.
Traffic signboards should be installed to assure proper guidance to the proceeding vehicles. Bushes growing up along the road side should also be cleared on regular basis so that travelers can have proper vision of vehicles proceeding from opposite directions. No doubt, public at large must be assured safety on a permanent basis.
