It was evident in the village of Chandor how the streetlight electricity pole fell on the live wires on the main road near Chandor Church, recently.
Lucky, thank God, no one was injured and looking at this accident it is noticed that even the streetlight poles near the Alma Khuris on the main road next to paddy fields can fall down at anytime in the strong winds.
It can take the life of the people using the road as live wires are passing through it. Don’t wait for the incident to happen and replace them before it take innocent public lives. During the monsoon season, both the sides of the paddy fields get flooded and due to this the soil is becoming loose and the poles are bent which can fall anytime with the strong winds.
Please replace the poles which need maintenance so that it may not fall down. Also request the village panchayat to strengthen both sides of the road by building a concert wall so that it may not affect the road and electricity poles and in turn save the lives of the people using the road.
Thanks to our linesmen who are working hard all seasons to restore the power supply back to normal. Electricity Department should give them proper tools for their safety. Request our Chandor-Cavorim Village Panchayat, Power Minister and Electricity Department to look into this matter seriously and take quick action.
