Severe water crises

I read an article in Herald daily of June 27 on water crisis. Our City Fathers are not bothered about pulling up relevant authorities for immediately repairing of leaky pipes.

A potable water pipeline below the road (as seen in photo) has been leaking for months, if not years. How many times our MLAs, leaders may have used this road? I built my house at Calangute in 2006 and have fully incorporated rainwater harvesting system (RWHS) therein, thereby recharging the subterranean water table for all to enjoy. Even rain falling in my large yard is contained, for the ground to percolate it into the water table, thereby raising its level. My water well also acts as a hydrometer – indicating dynamic and static levels of harvested water.
Our State government should urgently legislate compulsory RWHS for all new public and private projects including Solar Water Heating Hybrid Systems on roofs for conserving power, fuel and of course, carbon footprint.
