Sorry state of affairs of waste transfer, collection station on Margao bypass road

The shed is in shambles with all sorts of waste including dangerous bio-medical waste scattered around on the premises and road; Pigs, dogs and rodents roam free in the garbage and with rains, the place stinks to high heavens

This is the state of affairs at the segregated waste transfer and collection station managed by the Goa Waste Management Corporation on the Margao bypass road.

The shed itself is in shambles with all sorts of waste including dangerous bio-medical waste scattered around on the premises and the road. Pigs, dogs and rodents roam free in the garbage and with the rains, the place stinks to high heavens.

Besides, being an eyesore, the station itself is a huge health hazard for housing societies in the vicinity. It is obvious that the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ is a mere hollow slogan as with all other (non) campaigns being run by the government like ‘Har Ghar Jal’, ‘100 per cent ‘Open Defecation Free’ State etc. etc. I would request the State government to seriously look into this problem of waste management, as Goa is drowning in trash.
