It is sad to see the lack of upkeep of our protected heritage sites by the government, and to make matters worse insensitive tourists trash these places with plastic, beer bottles, cigarette butts, food packets etc. It is pathetic to see fellow Indians having no respect for their culture and heritage.
The State authorities should employ tourist police atleast at the more frequently visited places to rein in errant visitors by way of pecuniary fines and short term detainment. This sorry state of affairs was seen at Cabo de Rama.
