I have noticed that many drivers and riders jump the traffic signals in Porvorim. I find myself many-a-times yelling at the people who jump traffic signals and like me other locals to are seen yelling but they still don’t seem to understand.
The other day, I saw a local taxi driver carrying foreigners or tourists in his vehicle who jumped the traffic signal one evening, Was he doing this to impress his passengers?
A strict fine should be imposed by Goa Traffic Police regarding this matter or Traffic Police Officers should apprehend such people who jump traffic signals.
I have also noticed that many people go past the Zebra crossing and wait further down when the traffic signal is red, this is completely wrong. All drivers and riders are supposed to wait before a white line just before the zebra crossing but they don’t do that.
I request all the people who are reading my letter to spread this message to your friends, family and relatives, So such errors don’t occur in the future.
