With reference to the matter titled ‘Unrepaired letter-box at Ponda’ (Herald, 17 July) that was published in this column on July 17, I am pleased to inform that the said letter-box, existing at the premises of the main post-office in Ponda, which was kept closed for public has been re-opened.
On July 18 at 6:30 pm, the change was noticed. With the letter-box now available for the use of customers, public visiting this premise during major part of the day would be able to drop their letters as and when needed by them. Thanks to the higher officials at this post-office for re-opening the closed letter-box in public interest. Also, special thanks to the Herald team for highlighting this matter.
CORRIGENDUM: In Our Citizen Herald issue dated 17 July, we had inadvertently mentioned ‘Unrepaired letter box at Panjim’. The error is regretted.
