Since last few months, the construction of storm water drains had been in progress on the DB Marg and recently the trenches were closed and a shoddy repair work has been done on the stretch from MRF to Maruti Showroom upto the milk booth.
The surface for about 200 metres is so uneven with the rest of the road and one has to drive on it to really experience the crude finish given to this main arterial road. Once heavy rains occur and water gets filled up in these depressions it will not be noticeable till one is actually driving on this stretch unable to control the vehicle. More at risk are the two-wheeler riders.
What is shocking is how do the PWD officials accept as finished such shabby work and pay the contractors. The concerned department needs to immediately rectify the issue. Again the big pre-election promises made by the Panjim MLA of hot-mixing of all the roads were never taken up inconveniencing the road users, causing accidents and putting lives to risk. Sad indeed!
