At many places in Benaulim village, there are electric poles loaded with lots of wires hanging in close proximity to the houses.
Uninsulated power supply cables hang cheek by jowl with the telephone wires, TV cables and other miscellaneous stuff. Not only is this a danger to the cables themselves in terms of short circuits but also to the inhabitants of such houses.
As per the Goa Master Plan, all cables were to be shifted in underground channels to keep them out of harm’s way and also to nullify the ugliness of the landscape on account of such arrangements. May I request the concerned government authorities to implement their earlier proposals as soon as possible (ASAP).
