With no storm water drains, Siolim MDR-6 road floods

This has been an annual feature in our village at Bamon Vaddo, Siolim. Every monsoon the MDR-6 road near St Francis Xavier High School gets waterlogged due to the heavy showers.

As there are no storm water drains, the water accumulates on the side of the road making it dangerous for the children who walk to school. There is a transformer centre nearby too, which can also be a hazard during the rains, but luckily this year, a good Samaritan has dug a temporary drain.

When will the authorities act to remedy the situation? The PWD needs to construct drains along this very busy MDR -6 road, before one loses precious lives.
