Claiming ‘illegal’, members cancel Goa Dairy’s AGM

PONDA: Following chaos and controversies the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Goa Dairy Ponda, convened by Kashi Naik, Officer on Duty, was cancelled and postponed for next month.

Before the meeting could begin, members said the AGM is illegal claiming there is no provision in the by-laws of the Goa Dairy to appoint an Officer on Duty (OSD) to perform the role of Managing Director (MD) nor has powers to convey an AGM.

It may be recalled that the three members of the Administrative Committee had recently appointed Kashi Naik as OSD.

Former Goa Dairy Chairman Anup Desai told media the OSD appointed on temporary basis was given the charge of Managing Director and had convened the AGM.
