CM assures to solve Sanquelim locals’ woes

BICHOLIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar during a recent visit to Sanquelim constituency, heard the grievances of six panchayats and a municipality and assured to solve the problems of the people after following up the matter with the concerned authorities.

After visiting several panchayats, he later held a meeting with the stakeholders and the government officials at Ravindra Bhavan Sanquelim. The sarpanch and panchas of several panchayats raised several queries and the CM made the concerned officials to answer the same.
The CM also asked the officials to put in more work hours to solve the grievances of the people. 
The panchayats raised the issue of road, accidents, toilet, ground, school and other such problems. The authorities concerned answered the queries.
SMC Chairman, Dharmesh Saglani told that they have not received any fund since last four years and urged to release the same at the earliest. Later, the CM also visited the new Sanquelim municipal building which was inaugurated but is lying unused for the last nine months.
The CM assured the gathering that the newly constructed building would be made available to the municipality at the earliest. He also asked the DMA officials to look into the matter and do the necessary arrangements so that all the shops and the municipal office are accommodated in the new premises.
People also raised the issue of the Sanquelim ground and urged for a joint mamlatdar’s office in Sanquelim to ensure their works are completed as they are forced to travel to Bicholim for the same.
