PANJIM: Despite deciding to resume the salvage operation of offshore casino vessel Lucky 7 next month, the salvors decided to make one more attempt on Monday but saw little success. Sources told Herald that the vessel, which was six meters from deeper waters is now about three meters closer to reaching the channel.
“The vessel moved around 21 meters on Sunday and it was six meters away from the channel at Aguada Bay. We decided to make an attempt on Monday although the water tide is receding. It moved three meters. We will probably give a last try before resuming the exercise on October 3 or October 4,” said an official, who is assisting the salvage company AMS Marine LLC in the exercise.
With the High Court of Bombay at Goa to hear the matter on Wednesday, the official claimed that receding tide is hampering the towing operation, while technical glitches too delayed the work in the last few days.
The salvors expect to resume the operation on October 3 or October 4 when the height of the tide is expected to be at 2.0 metres.
