DGCA Launches Probe After Training Aircraft Runs Off Runway At Baramati

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has launched a preliminary investigation into a runway excursion involving a training aircraft at Baramati airfield in Maharashtra on Sunday.The incident occurred around 12:25 pm when a Cessna C172 aircraft, operated by DGCA-approved Academy of Carver Aviation, was conducting Circuit and Landing Emergencies training. The aircraft was commanded by flight instructor Capt. Chirag Shashikant Doifode, with trainee Abhijeet Jundre on board.During a rejected take-off exercise, the aircraft failed to stop within the paved runway area and veered off beyond the Runway 29 threshold.No injuries or fatalities were reported. The aircraft suffered preliminary damage to its propeller, engine cowling and nose landing gear.
