PONDA: Ponda Vikas Samiti (PVS) on Thursday stated that the fate of the Ponda Citizen Committee (PCC) at the Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) polls would be like BJP’s performance in the just-concluded Karnataka assembly polls.

Addressing media at Ponda, PVS Secretary Milind Mhadgut said that the BJP had lost miserably in Karnataka and they expect a similar situation at the PMC polls.

“Just as BJP lost in Karnataka, PCC candidates fielded by the BJP-MGP are sure to lose. The results will be clear on May 13 when votes are counted,” said Mhadgut.

Meanwhile on Thursday, some pamphlets were circulated to highlight various positions in government corporations that were awarded to a BJP member and his kin. Incidentally, the BJP member is among the candidates contesting the PMC polls.

“It has been brought to our notice that some pamphlets are being circulated through newspapers, which show that the government has awarded some important jobs to the kin of a contestant.  We condemn the decision of the government to award chairmanships to the candidate and his kin. This is actually a family Raj,” stated PVS President Ram Kunkolienkar, and called for a probe in the matter.
