BJP has claimed that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has agreed to reconsider the hike in water tariff. Hours after announcing his decision following cabinet meeting on Wednesday, BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade met the CM requesting him to reconsider the decision. “I requested the CM to reconsider the decision of hike in water tariff. He has agreed,” the party chief said while talking to Herald. It is learnt that the last hike was in 2015 when the then Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar took this decision in order to curb water wastage.
