PONDA: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Friday lashed out at former PWD minister Sudin Dhavalikar for taking credit of the recently announced free water scheme by the government.

Dhavailkar, who welcomed the proposal of 16,000 litres of free water the very next day, claimed that it was him who moved the file for providing free water to the needy when he was the PWD minister in 2016 for judicious use of water.

While speaking at a programme at Dharbandora, Sawant said, “He has habit of taking credit of our good works.” “If it was his decision then why has he failed to provide free water to Goans,” the CM questioned Dhavalikar. “He was the PWD Minister for past 20 years. Who stopped him from implementing it,” the CM added.

The CM appreciated PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar for planning the free water scheme and said he is proud to provide free water to people of Goa.
