Panjim: A day after Chief Minister Pramod Sawant pulled up government employees over non-performance; Congress said that action is an endorsement to their stand that the BJP-led State government is defective, insensitive and corrupt.
Addressing media persons on Wednesday, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) General Secretary Amarnath Panjikar warned the CM against blaming employees for his failures and instead asked him to work on ensuring that his State administration is sensitive to the public.
“People of Goa are watching the misdeeds of the Sawant-led government and will teach them a lesson in the upcoming Zilla Panchayat, Municipal Council and 2022 Assembly Elections,” Panjikar said.
The CM, while addressing the Vigilance Awareness Week on Tuesday, had said that the public administration has to be people-friendly and harassment to common people has to stop. He also pointed out that several employees are non-performing and non-punctual in their duties.
“The anger of the CM against the various government officials, holding them solely responsible for failing to fulfill the basic needs of the people was out of frustration. He was targeting those government officers who have now refused to be part of the “Mission Commission” agenda of the BJP government, which has hampered the ‘fortune making programme’ of the BJP Cadre,” Panjikar charged.
He further added that it is shocking that the CM did not utter a single word about the mass corruption done by his entire Cabinet including himself and also had no guts to comment on various orders passed by the Lokayukta on scams and scandals of various Ministers.
“Congress has already warned all the officials that all corruption cases will be probed thoroughly once the Congress government comes to power in 2022. Eradicating corruption from the administration will be the prime focus of our agenda and manifesto,” he added.
